What Crumpl accesses

Your PDF files, only when you choose them

Crumpl reads a file when you select it in the document picker, share it to the app, drag it onto the window, or pick it in a Finder Quick Action. It cannot browse your files on its own — it is sandboxed, and it only ever sees what you hand it.

Compression happens on your device, in memory and in a temporary file. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.

Your preferences

Four settings — your default preset, your default save action, the filename suffix for copies, and whether a batch continues past a failure — are stored on your device so the app and its share extension agree. They never leave the device.

What Crumpl does not do

• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
• No crash reporting
• No advertising identifier, and no advertising
• No accounts, sign-in, or user profiles
• No network requests of any kind
• No reading, indexing, or enumerating of files you did not select
• No sharing or selling of anything, to anyone

Data retention

None, because nothing is collected. Temporary files created during compression are deleted when the operation finishes. Output files are written only where you choose to save them.

Children

Crumpl is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app has no network access, a change could only ever follow a change to the app itself, which means a new App Store release.
